Bum Trick: Ah Breakfast! Mmm...
Contributed by Granola Bob

Oh god! I am so sorry everyone for not getting back to you sooner. The FHL staff has been trying to get a hold of me for some time now and it was just my luck that after I submitted the last article on “How to cure the hangover” I found myself with my own reoccurring hangover to deal with and it seemed to last well into the first 20 days of April. It was brutal, but I am back to keep everyone on track with the wonderful art of bum trickery as usual. Especially stoked for all of those from down south that are starting their winter and tuning into what is going on with the hippest freeheel skiers in town.

Getting over the hangover is a delicate process that needs to be taken seriously (see previous bum trick) and along with the wise insight I shared with you last time, I would like to pass on some of my favorite breakfast foods, epicurean delights if you will, and saviors in my most heinous times.

Breakfast foods are the best way to ‘soak’ up whatever you drank last night…or at least that is what I have always heard. As GI Joe says “knowing is half the battle,” and I believe him 100% because cartoons always tell the truth, so here is my down home list of what you need to get it done in the mornin’:

Bacon & Eggs with Taters:
Total Cost: $2.00 US

Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 strips of bacon
  • 1 Potato (grated)
Preparation & Cooking:
  • First things first…grab that tater and a cheese grater and start grating it into a bowl. Set aside for later use.
  • Turn stove top on Medium and let pan warm.
  • Place bacon in warm pan, let sizzle to desired crispness.
  • Remove bacon from pan and place on plate with paper towels to absorb some grease.
  • NOW WAIT!!!!!
  • Do NOT pour the grease out of the pan. Leave grease in pan for maximum “get rid of my hang over effect.”
  • Place shredded taters into pan and brown to perfection.
  • Remove tasty life saving taters and proceed to crack all 3 eggs into pan of grease.
  • Cook eggs until desired.
  • Place all of your greasy goodies on a plate and proceed to television room to watch PW05 while drinking pressed coffee and enjoying a wealth of goodness.
*Note: Coffee may be substituted for Bloody Mary or Mimosa as alcohol in the morning may be necessary to avoid a massive headache.

All you faithful BUMS out there, be careful this month and don’t let too many cheap beers get you down ‘cause there are too many turns to be made out there this winter! Until next time….I’m Granola Bob saying “keep it cheap or get it free!”
