Traveling is always fun and exciting; visiting new places, meeting new people, skiing amazing new terrain, but there always seems to be a given level of stress in the pre-trip process. With all the complications of arranging airline tickets and reserving hotels, It is easy to forget some of the simple necessities for the trip, such as the contents of your carry-on bag.
Most large commercial airlines allow for one carry-on bag and one personal item such as a purse, briefcase, or laptop computer. As we all know, these must be able to fit under your seat or in the overhead bin, however, what exactly will fit? Well to be exact, carry- on bags should not be more than 9” x 14” x 22” or 45 linear inches. It should be known, with complete respect to the Federal Airline Administration, that these boundaries can usually be toyed with to a slight degree. (We will address this shortly)
Now obviously, while packing there are some basic entertainment essentials that you will bring to make the flights of a more bearable duration.
- IPods
- Computer
- Book
- Water and some remotely digestible food
Then there are a couple of little items that we usually need, but sometimes forget:
- Toothbrush
- One extra set of underwear (remember, check-ins can be lost)
- Imodium AD
- Ear Plugs
Now this is one to remember…
Remember our little note about stretching the boundaries? Well, just strap these over your backpack and you should be set. ‘Cause remember, check-ins can be lost, and no one wants to have to rent some awkward boots while your luggage continues to be searched for.
With the hopes of your carry on baggage covered, may we wish that none of your check-in luggage (such as your skis) get lost.
