Depending on the length of your inseam, the patio area of the Seven Devils Pub is anywhere from 3-6 steps from the point at which you leave the snow of Tamarack Ski Resort. If you are a “hurting unit”, this may be the ideal spot to spend your afternoon after shredding the multi-faceted area that nestles itself against Lake Cascade in Idaho.
In the midst of my OCD-like bout with the delicious vegetable burger our table was happened upon by a man named Alfredo who began a casual conversation about the recent nomination of the new Tamarack golf course. The #1 Public Course in the $75+ greens-fee category in the entire country. All of a sudden names like André Agassi and President Bush are getting dropped like school classes on a pow-day and I’m getting curious. It turns out that Alfredo is one of the key movers and shakers in the new Tamarack development, but he doesn’t play the part of your typical resort tycoon. He has a loud laugh, a big smile, and asks questions that make you feel like you’ve been there before. Suddenly I’m distracted once again by the fragrance of my burger. The food was killer and I was forced to break away from the conversation just for a moment.
When I reintroduced myself back into the conversation, I immediately stated that I would grace the upcoming press conference in André’s absence. I was told that I would have to cut my hair, trim the facial hair and I’d be ready to stand in. Surprised by the outright laid-back attitude, I decided that this place must hold something special.

All of a sudden, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a French fry actually begging to be eaten. I just couldn’t bear to see the little guy squirm, so I put him and a couple of his friends out of their misery.
When Alfredo left, he shook our hands while looking us in the eye and telling us that he hoped to see us back again soon, and I believed him. At this point, I was thoroughly interested. The Seven Devils is obviously a diverse establishment for all walks of life. It seems that the little pub can’t identify itself exclusively with anyone in particular, so it decided to bring in everyone. It’s a place where all snow sliders can enjoy some down time after a hard day of shredding.
Good food: check. Pool table: check. Flat screen: check. Ambience, friends, good times: check. So, when the inevitably arrive at Tamarack Resort next time be sure to make the 3-6 step journey that leads to The Seven Devils Pub. It’s the place to be Après ski.
